Countless eyebrows were raised in unutterable dismay as Miss China Wen Xia Yu was crowned as the new Miss World exceeding over 115 contenders from across the globe during the gallant ceremony held on Saturday evening at Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium in China's own soil - Ordos, Inner Mongolia.

The victory of Wen Xia Yu bestowed China its second Miss World crown. The first was earned last 2007 when Zhang Zilin won the tittle - also in its home territory in Sanya, China.

Rather than an achievement to be celebrated with glittering confetti and exuberant joy, there were wailing and gnashing of teeth from the different quarters of the earth in awful protest to the eventual winner - claiming the contest was obviously rigged from the beginning, destroying the credibility and staining the integrity of the Miss World Organization at its very core.

Wouldn't it be so lovelier and more appealing to the eyes giving the coveted crown to the rightful candidate other than their home country bet? Does it leave a good image to the country despite winning the blue diamond crown? Can China bag the title outside its own turf? Well, you may leave the answers to your own imagination.

Miss Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela crowned her successor Miss Wen Xia Yu from China. Miss Wales, Sophie Moulds with the mint-colored ribboned gown won as First Princess while Miss Australia, Jessica Kahawaty was proclaimed as the Second Princess.
