"You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair".  ~Douglas MacArthur

The sudden surge of floodwater may be brought into a halt but getting a year older is certainly inevitable. And today marks my 25 years of existence, I may have aged a bit but its nothing compared to the blessings that I have gained. Cliche as it may sound, but irregardless of  the hardships and the brouhaha in life that I've been through I am still grateful and much happier because I've survived it all! (Praise God).
Anyway, never mind getting a year older. As what the old adage says, age is just an issue of the mind over matter. If you don't mind it really doesn't matter. Do you agree? ^_^

"A lot of movies are about life, mine are like a slice of cake" - Alfred Hitchcock

Well with all honesty aside its never been customary to celebrate my birthdays with fancy cakes and candles. Neither that I've been used to greet my natal day with fine dining in the company of friends. Although a word of prayer and thanksgiving are already sufficient however it would be so ruthless of me if I just let this special day pass by without even having a simple celebration. After all, turning 25 is a once in a lifetime opportunity so making the most of it is probably the least thing that I can do.

"If I were to wish for anything, I should not wish for wealth and power, but for the passionate sense of the potential, for the eye which, ever young and ardent, sees the possible. Pleasure disappoints, possibility never" - Soren Kierkegaard.

Birthdays wouldn't be complete without whispering some (fanciful) wishes. As I blew the last candle on the ice cream cake, there's only one ardent wish that I have in mind. We'll its not the fountain of youth that I have dearly cherished for years because I know it will never ever happen unless (in the worldly sense) Elena or Catherine of Vampire Diaries would let me suck their blood in vain for eternity - Lol. But rather my wish is something that is quite realistic and probably fulfilling --
and that is to become a channel of blessing to others (especially to the young orphans) in the best possible way that I can. This altruistic aspiration might have triggered some eyebrows to raise in dispute but I wouldn't mind at all because I know exactly how it feels to grow up without having your mom or dad at your side..:-)
My birthday wish may sound artificial or impractical for some, but who knows someday beyond the blue it'll come true? We'll I'm keeping my fingers crossed, that somehow the stars of the universe will conspire to grant what my heart desires. Amen!
