After a long-stretched Binibini fest, which also marked the 50th golden anniversary of the country's most prestigious beauty search, the Philippines had finally crowned four of its most captivating beauties who would continue on the legacy of representing the whole archipelago in the world-wide beauty derby and hopefully make us Filipinos beaming with pride once more.
(Though its a bit late) I would like to join with the rest of the beauty enthusiasts and pageant aficionados around the globe in sending our warmest felicitations and best wishes to our newly crowned Binibini Queens as well as to our lovely contenders who comprised the historic 'golden batch' and made the 50th anniversary of Binibining Pilipinas an exciting one.
Personally, I am well-satisfied with the result, although a tinged of melancholy engulfed me as I've seen right before my eyes, my sentimental faves not even getting the first cut. Its really beyond belief and its inexhaustibly difficile for me to fathom that top-caliber beauties like Hannah Ruth Sison, Cassandra Naidas, Anna Fernandina Buquid and Ria Rabajante were left clapping in the background while their fellow candidates advanced to the semi-final round. I didn't know exactly what went wrong but this is probably one of the few examples of life's not-so-pleasant realities in which definite answers were seemingly deemed privy from our eyes. After all, Binibining Pilipinas wouldn't be as exciting and sensationally, spine-tingling without its charade of controversies and pleasant surprises. Good thing, (and it felt an awesome relief) that the ones who triumphed and bagged the coveted crowns of the night were all equitably deserving and befittingly capable of sustaining the victorious momentum of Filipina beauties in the international beauty tilt.
