Megan Young waves to the welcoming crowd during her grandhomecoming in Olongapo.

The boy must have been mesmerized by the Queen.
And do you think being a beauty queen is all about glitz and glamour? Well, not with Miss World. One of the best reasons that set Miss World apart from the rest of the beauty pageants in the globe is its beauty-with-a-purpose theme, its serious and noble charitable endeavors. The winner throughout her reign is immersed with countless charity projects, community outreach programs serving the poorest and underprivileged sectors in the society and her schedule is never without those endless opportunities where in she could inspire and touch thousands of lives, giving hope and spreading love to mankind.

Miss World 2013 visited James L. Gordon hospital giving some words of encouragement and lifting up the spirits of  those affected by a Leptospirosis outbreak caused by flooding during the recent weeks.

And just like Megan Young, amidst her tight schedule attending some courtesy calls, tv appearances and grand parades, a visit to her hometown's hospital in Olongapo coupled with some feeding program for the kids were on the top of her list as the new Miss World. Indeed, as what the old cliche says, Charity should always start at home and Megan Young has just accomplished such exemplary deed. After her grand homecoming in the Philippines she is expected to travel back to London, England (where MWO is based) and will soon be preparing for a whirlwind of activities, spearheading some charitable projects in Africa and in some countries all around the world where help is an utmost need.
