Patraporn Wang of Thaiand crowned by last year's winner Ekaterina Plekhova of Russia
Miss Philippines is Miss Photogenic and the
Queen of Asia and Oceania
The Land of Smiles got a wonderful reason to smile today!

Patraporn Wang of Thailand surprised the pageant pundits across the continents when she bagged the title and was crowned as Miss Intercontinental 2014. The towering Thai beauty outshined 72 other competing beauties during the pageant's final competition held inside Maritim Hotel, Magdeburg, Germany. She succeeded last year's winner Ekaterina Plekhova from Russia.

Prataporn's win wasn't expected. She wasn't even considered a favorite and a top contender by many fans and pageant experts, however the odds were just simply on her favor when the judges chose her as the top winner over the netizens' highly favored Kris Tiffany Janson of the Philippines who delivered an excellent response during the final question-and-answer round of the recently-concluded coronation finale.

Cuba's delegate Jeslie Margal achieved the First Runner-Up honors while Philippines' bet Kris Tiffany Janson settled as Second Runner-Up and nabbed the Miss Photogenic award as well as the Queen of Asia and Oceania title.

Now I'm wondering, what could be Patraporn's edge aside from her towering form over the crowd favorites who were obviously more visually appealing and were clearly outstanding in terms of grace and public speaking?

Miss Intercontinental Top 3 winners. From L-R: Philippines' Kris Tiffany Janson (Second Runner-Up), Thailand's Patraporn Wang (Miss Intercontinental 2014) and Cuba's Jeslie Margal (First Runner-Up)
