Angelia Gabrena Ong of Manila City

Bannering the sash of the country's city capital, Angelia Gabrena Ong seems to be building a surging buzz as the competition gets rolling to its final momentum. Blessed with such captivating morena features as well as the charm of an exotic South-East Asian vixen, Angelia is all set and ready to take on the challenge of becoming the next Miss Philippines Earth successor. The 24 years old Marketing Management student who's armed with an interesting environmental advocacy is visibly a stand out among this edition's earth warriors and is pegged to succeed the crown. Will it be a victorious stint for Angelia?

Describe your childhood/growing years (8-13 years old)

I was a very outgoing kind of kid. I was not very shy and

would participate in a lot of co-curricular activities in school. I was already a dreamer then that loved the stage. I was bullied as some point but took it lightly as if I was the lead role in a movie.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?

I have learned that it is possible to be complete as an individual even though your family isn’t. I have learned what unconditional love is and have learned to make it on my own as early as possible.

Most memorable moment

The top of mind I got to consider as my memorable moment the past few months was finding out that I was part of the DEAN’S LIST unexpectedly. Hard work really does pay off!

What is the most unusual thing you've ever done?

None so far.

What is your ambition in life?

My ambition in life is to be a successful loving woman who knows how to love herself in order to love other people too. I want to be an empowered woman who will marry an empowered man where we will make a complete family that I’ve always wanted. I want to have financial freedom that I will able to provide for my family and still do the things I love such as pursuing my interests and advocacies. Lastly, I’d love to be the best daughter to God, my parents especially my mom where I could give back all the sacrifices she made for me and my siblings… I’d love to do all of that.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?

I want to be the next Ms. Philippines Earth because I believe that this is the perfect venue to express myself and I feel that there are so many things to do to save our planet. The crown, aside from all the prestige that comes with it, will empower me to empower others to GET UP AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT our dying planet. It will give me the authority and legitimacy to inspire people on a personal level and up to encouraging them not to take Mother Earth for granted.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?

I choose RESTORATION, REFORESTATION, and MINIMIZING CARBON FOOTPRINTS through ECO-TOURISM. I chose them because I believe that through eco-tourism, we will be able to save our planet and at the same time create jobs and revenue for the people around. Educating them on how we can minimize carbon footprints in our own simple ways and how we can consistently maintain reforestation and restoration projects would definitely get a long way. - Miss Philippines Earth.
