Marianna Darlene Pepito of Ormoc City

Having been able to spend her childhood years in England,
it's not surprising that this beautiful earth warrior from Ormoc city got the upperhand in articulating her thoughts in the English language be it in the oral or penned formats. It could be one of the reasons (aside from her colorful life stories and rich experiences) why I really had a great time reading Marianna's interview script from the page of Miss Philippines Earth. A God-fearing woman that she is whose been raised primarily by her loving grandmother, she finds courage through her faith and confidence in oneself in mounting life's toughest challenges as well as in achieving greater things that life can possibly offer.

Describe your childhood/growing years (8-13 years old)

I spent my childhood in between England and Philippines. I

would spend my summers with my Mother in England while I live with Grandmother here in the Philippines. I was blessed to have such an amazing grandmother who taught me to dream and believe in God. She taught me to be kind to others and to always have courage in everything I do.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?

During my childhood years, I learned how to appreciate the simple things in life and working hard pays off. Unfortunately, I had no formal parents to guide me through my childhood as my grandmother raised me. Through tough times and with my faith in God, I was able to put myself through school and achieved a career at such a young age. I have learned that if you believe in yourself, you can certainly achieve anything.

Most memorable moment

My most memorable moment would be the time I lived in

Toronto, Canada. I have moved to a country where I don’t know anyone and what to expect. I have learned so many things about myself that I’ve never knew I had in me. I’ve seen life in a different way. I have bloomed from a naïve girl to a confident woman I am today. Being in North America gave me a different outlook in life. It taught me good skills to share with others back home here in the Philippines. I feel very motivated and confident in succeeding greater things in life. My experiences have helped me mature my thinking and continue to grow as Good Role Model to others.

What is the most unusual thing you've ever done?

Back in High School We did a school outreached program in

Bicol, where we met and lived with urban families. Families, unfortunately living in poverty, whom do not have a proper concrete house with no electricity. But despite of living in a very poor condition, they were happy and value each member of their family as their treasure. This was an inspiration that we should appreciate the simple things in life and we should be grateful for all the blessings that we’ve been given. Through this fulfilling experience, I was inspired to help charity organizations.

What is your ambition in life?

My ambition would be to inspire the younger generation who wants to make a change in the world for the better. I would like to continue to pursue and complete a University degree in North America. Upon completion, I plan on traveling the world helping environment driven organizations promoting good will.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?

To be given the task of Miss Philippines Earth 2015 is an

honor. To serve and help our nation to achieve a better knowledge in preserving our nature and proper use of our resources. I would like to travel around Philippines and focus on reaching out to indigenous tribe and teach them eco-tourism. Little by little we can improve the lives of each Filipinos.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?

To raise awareness about renewable energy resources and passion to be actively involved in protecting Mother Earth came with the growing concern over climate change coupled with the rising cost of electricity.
