Parul Shah wearing Edwin Uy's Muslim Maranao Princess national costume in MissGrand International 2015.

Maranao-inspired ensemble.
The moment I learned that Edwin Uy has been vested with the rights by the BPCI to be the national costume designer of Parul Shah for the ongoing Miss Grand International pageant, I didn't have any reservations nor a pinch of doubt in coming up with a fab creation which would also simultaneously showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines. And true enough, Parul looked so grand and enchanting donning the renowned designer's Muslim Maranao Royalty-inspired ethnic ensemble. It didn't just hold the audience (as well as the netizens) in awe as our bet gracefully sashayed the shimmering garb on stage, it also captivated the hearts of the judges and even made it as one of the top 20 best in national costume designs out of more than 60 delegates in contention, with the top winner still pending to be announced on the finals.

On behalf of our fellow Filipino fans here and abroad, we are so thankful for the head honcho of BPCI, Madame Stella Marquez Araneta for finally listening to our endless clamors of giving our brilliant Filipino designers the chance to dress our delegates in their respective pageant assignments abroad. And to Edwin Uy, a million thanks to you for your generous support and love to our Binibini Queens.
